The Bikini incision for anterior approach total hip arthroplasty

The Anterior Approach for Minimally Invasive Surgery (AMIS) allows implantation through an internervous plane with muscle preservation. However, the classic longitudinal skin incision does not follow the anatomic skin creases and can result in scar widening. In selected cases, the technique can be modified using a groin crease incision, the Bikini incision.
