NextAR Knee and KA with SpheriKA – Live Surgery: Dr. John Mercuri
NextAR Knee is Medacta’s Augmented Reality surgical platform for total Knee replacement.
Dr. Mercuri, from Geisinger (Scranton, Pennsylvania) has performed several surgeries using NextAR Knee and is now one of Medacta’s Key Opinion Leaders in the United States for this technology. In this video, Dr. Mercuri performs a total knee replacement surgery using Kinematic Alignment to implant the GMK SpheriKA Press Fit, supported by the NextAR Knee platform and the MyKnee NextAR PPS option. This option allows for easy and rapid positioning of the NextAR sensors on the patient’s femur and tibia with the aid of patient-specific blocks. Dr. Mercuri utilizes the NextAR ligament assessment tool to help balance the knee while using kinematic alignment concepts.
